ジカロボン酸NDCAの脱炭酸重合も興味深いが金属表面上の反応で大量合成には向かないであろう。個人的に興味を持ったのは、アキラルなNDCA分子がCu(111)面で形成するr,lの自己集合構造である。
According to the ordered NDCA networks we observed (SI-Figure 4.a), two kinds of self-assembly structures: L- and R-chiral, as shown in SI-Figure 4.b. The periodic unit cell parameters are slightly different: a, 0.83 nm; b, 0.73 nm; angle 96.8 o for L-chiral and 0.85 nm, 0.71 nm, 94.6 o for R-chiral, respectively, because of the different packing configurations in hydrogen bonding.
Anyway, it is obvious that the L- and R- chiral NDCAs were separated in the ordered phase via hydrogen bonding. However, the L- and R- chiral NDCAs were mixed together in the disordered phase (see the main text).
